The Lochan
This loch was created by our gamekeeper, Colin Dey, in 1998. It
is 120 yards long and 30 yards across at its widest. It is stocked
with rainbow trout.
There is a small landing stage from which canoes can be launched.
We have two single person canoes which may be hired along with childrens
lifejackets.
River Almond
The Almond rises above Auchnafree, and runs down to join the River
Tay just above Perth. Salmon run in the autumn, but only in a decent
spate.
In a usual year around five fish are caught, some as big as 7lbs.
There are brown trout in the river, but they are extremely difficult
to catch !
