Getting here

Auchnafree is about 60 miles from both Edinburgh and Glasgow; it's north of Stirling, south of Aberfeldy and west of Perth.

It takes about 2 hours from Edinburgh (M90 to Perth and then cross country), and 3 hours from Carlisle hugging the speed limits.

The slowest part of the journey is the track from Newton Bridge (solely General Wade’s bridge crossing the River Almond) to Auchnafree itself, which is 4.7 miles and is not to be rushed !
